"Shogun", the new album from TRIVIUM, sold just under 24,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 23 on The Billboard 200 chart. The CD follows up "The Crusade", which opened with 31,000 copies in October 2006 to land at No. 25.
"Shogun" was released in North America on September 30 via Roadrunner Records. The CD was mixed in London by Colin Richardson (SLIPKNOT, MACHINE HEAD, FEAR FACTORY, BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE, NAPALM DEATH),with Jeff Rose and Martin "Ginge" Ford assisting on engineering duties.
Justin Hawkins unveiled his new band HOT LEG at a concert in London on August 6. The group played a set of cock-rock numbers, in a similar vein to THE DARKNESS, and covered two songs entitled "The Power Of Love" — one by HUEY LEWIS AND THE NEWS, the other by JENNIFER RUSH, both massive UK hits in 1985. The band then finished with a version of THE DARKNESS' "I Believe In A Thing Called Love".
